Keith Simpson MP to visit RHSC |
On Friday we welcome our local MP, Mr Keith Simpson to RHSC. Mr Simpson has been a good friend of the school for many years. We have invited him in to make him aware of important issues facing schools such as ours and to discuss our ambition to have a sports hall fit for a school of over 1000 students in the 21st century. |

On the 20th of June we will be holding our annual Summer Music Concert. This year's event will be particularly special for two reasons. Firstly, our concert is part of the highly prestigious regional celebrations of Benjamin Britten's life, on the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Secondly, this will be the final concert for our Head of Music, Mr Parker. Mr Parker retires this summer after many years of wonderful service to RHSC.
Tickets will be available very soon and we hope you will be able to join us and enjoy a fantastic evening of music, from Britten to the Beatles. |

Lithuania Trip - Comenius Project 'Energy for Life'
 |
On Thursday 16th May, Ms Thacker, Mr Collins, Georgia Watts and Bonnie Hilldrup went to Lithuania for our current Comenius project, 'Energy for Life'. The students were investigating hydroelectricity and the ways in which Lithuania is harnessing water energy to create a more sustainable electricity supply. Our pupils gave presentations and visited many areas of geographical interest. Along with our English pupils, students from Lithuania, Italy, Poland, Finland worked in mixed groups to interview local people about alternative energy and analysed their findings. In addition to this, our students experienced school life, Lithuanian culture and tried the local foods. Highlights of the trip included traditional folk dancing and singing aboard a boat, climbing up to the top of Vilnius castle and local ice cream! Both of the students became very close friends with their hosting families and were sad to say goodbye to this fascinating country. |
